LipoDissolve™: Fat Removal Injections
Lipodissolve ™ is a treatment that involves a series of targeted injections designed to liquify and reduce localized fat deposits. The procedure works by breaking down the connective bonds between fat cells, turning the fat into a liquid form that can then be naturally eliminated by the body.
Lipodissolve
The Lipodissolve™ solution is a specialized injectable formula designed to target and reduce localized fat deposits. The solution primarily consists of two key components: phosphatidylcholine and deoxycholate. These substances work together to emulsify and dissolve fat cells, facilitating their removal from the body.
Components & Functions of Lipodissolve
Phosphatidylcholine: A naturally occurring phospholipid that helps break down fat cell membranes. It assists in the emulsification of fat, making it easier for the body to process and eliminate.
Deoxycholate: A bile salt that enhances the action of phosphatidylcholine by further disrupting fat cell membranes and aiding in fat dissolution.
Lipodissolve™ is designed for patients who are close to or at their ideal weight but struggle with stubborn fat deposits that remain despite regular exercise and a healthy diet including those responsible for the appearance of cellulite. It is not a weight loss solution but rather a body contouring treatment for localized fat. Dr Yoserev will evaluate whether you are a suitable candidate for Lipodissolve™ or if alternative treatments, such as SmartLipo, might be more appropriate.
About LipoDissolve™ Procedure:
Fat Removal
When injected into targeted areas, the Lipodissolve™ solution disrupts the structural integrity of fat cells. This process liquifies the fat, which is then gradually absorbed and metabolized by the body’s lymphatic and circulatory systems.
Cellulite
By breaking down the fat and improving skin texture, Lipodissolve™ can significantly diminish the visibility of cellulite.
Off Label
It’s important to note that while Lipodissolve™ has been used effectively in many cases, the treatment is not FDA-approved specifically for these purposes. Instead, it is used off-label.
Recovery
It is not uncommon to experience a slight burning sensation around the treated area for about an hour after the injections. You may experience some skin tenderness, swelling, and, less commonly, bruising around the site of injection for a day or two after the procedure. A minority of patients experience nausea, fever, or dizziness, and it is difficult to predict who will experience these effects.
Results
Improvements in body contours and skin texture are often noticeable within a few weeks. Results can vary based on individual factors such as the severity of the fat deposits and overall body response.
Aftercare
Do not use ice or take anti-inflammatory medications to manage swelling, as these can interfere with the effectiveness of the Lipodissolve™ treatment. The swelling is part of the natural process of the solution working to break down fat cells.
